Benton Library has lots of great databases (AKA magazine/newspaper/journal article search engines) for you to use! However, these databases are password-protected when accessing them away from the school network.
Follow these instructions to access our databases from the comfort of your own home:
1. Go to bentonmediacenter.ning.com.

2. Click on the image of the keys to access passwords for all databases.

3. A screen similar to the one below will appear. Type the password provided by media center staff in the proper box and hit “Enter.”

4. A file titled “Database Passwords” will appear. Each database is listed by name, followed by the password needed to access the database from home.

5. Navigate to the “Databases” tab. A list of databases by type will appear. Select one of these types to begin searching.

6. Descriptions of each database’s content and subject matter are included. Click on the red title of a database and/or its icon to begin searching that database.

7. A screen similar to the one below will appear. Enter the password for that database (found in the “Database Passwords” file) into the proper box and click “Proceed.”

8. If you’ve entered the correct password, you’ll see a welcome screen similar to the one below. Enter your search terms to begin researching!
